Endodontic treatment, commonly known as a root canal, is a dental procedure used to treat and save a severely damaged or infected tooth. It involves removing the infected or injured pulp, which is the soft tissue inside the tooth, and cleaning and disinfecting the root canals. After that, the canals are filled with a special material to seal them and prevent further infection. The tooth is then restored with a dental filling or ceramic restoration to protect it and restore its functionality.
